Like No Place On Earth. That's what the sign says when you cross into the wide-open state, west of South Dakota. A lot of riders discovered that one firsthand this year, and as word of mouth spread about what goes on out there during Sturgis, more folks want to check it out. If you were sick of Main Street's crowds, baby strollers, excess cops and cat food (rumored to have been in more than a few Indian tacos...), then you too will wanna check out Beulah, Hulett and Sundance next year, on Wednesday, when the midweek party gets a recharge.

The street drags in Beulah light the town of 30 up like a crate of loaded M-16s tossed in a bonfire. The cops let crowds pour into town and take it over, while street-screeching, big-inch iron scorches the asphalt through most of the afternoon. A memorial to fallen bikers, donated by Watertown Granite Center (800-843-3305), assures you that this is definitely a biker-friendly town.

Loop on over to Hulett, and you'll meet the folks from the Northeast Wyoming ABATE chapter, who sponsor an all-day pig roast. If you're looking for titis, you'll find plenty of those too. The horse-riding deputies just smile and let kids be kids, as streets packed with people, make way for the breed of backstreet cruisin' women we need to see a helluva lot more of.

Finally, the pack putts over to Sundance, by way of Devil's Tower (from Close Encounters of the Third Kind). This Old West town lays out stacks of hay bales for riders to do hole shots in, and somewhere along the way, the spirit of biker craziness remains unsanitized by consortiums, committees and city fathers looking to make a buck.

The people of Wyoming take on some might brutal winters, so they know what a good time is all about. If you miss the days of wild women and screamin' scooters, just cross their state line next year during the Rally and Races. That Wednesday loop ain't gonna be a secret for long, so get yerself a piece of the partyin' pie while it's still hot!
